This Privacy Policy explains how MUAH ("MUAH," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile and web application (the "App") and this website (the "Site"), together the "Services." It should be read together with our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Services generally.

Location, in plain terms: the App asks permission to use your device's location so it can show makeup and hair artists near you on the map and sort them by distance. It's always your choice — decline the prompt or turn it off anytime in your device settings, and you can still search and book manually. We only use location for this nearby-artist feature, we don't track it in the background, and we don't sell it.

1. Information We Collect

Location information. With your permission, we use your device's approximate or precise location — depending on what you allow — to show nearby artists on the map and sort search results by distance. You can grant, deny, or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the App works without it, just without distance-based sorting.

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may optionally add a phone number, birthday, gender, profile photo, and bio.

Artist information. If you register as a makeup or hair artist, we also collect your service menu, pricing, portfolio images, and skill level.

Booking information. When you book or accept an appointment, we collect the service, date, time, price, and the names/emails of the client and artist involved.

Messages & community content. We store direct messages, community posts, comments, images, and reactions you choose to share within the App.

Payment & payout information. When appointment payments are enabled, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full card number — Stripe handles that securely on our behalf. If you're an artist, we collect the payout details you submit (such as a PayPal email or bank account information) so we can pay you for completed bookings.

Usage & device information. We automatically collect basic technical information such as browser type, device type, and general usage patterns to keep the Services secure and reliable.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

Between clients and artists as necessary to complete a booking (e.g. name, contact, appointment details)
With service providers who help us operate the Services, such as Google Firebase (hosting, database, authentication, storage) and Stripe (payments)
When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of MUAH and our users

4. Data Storage & Security

Your information is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure with industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit. Access to your data is restricted based on your account and role. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices

You can review and update your profile information at any time in the App
You can disable location permissions in your device settings
You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us

6. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
